Poppins, a new app to make sharing a reflex
A newcomer to the sharing economy landscape, the Poppins app is taking its first steps with the ambition of shaking up our consumer habits. Launched in April 2025, it enables individuals to rent or borrow everyday items - kitchen equipment, childcare equipment, DIY tools, etc. - via a single platform, which brings together offers from neighbors and customers. - via a single platform, which brings together offers from neighbors, retailers, associations and object libraries.
Founded by Lucie Basch, already behind Too Good To Go, Poppins has a first community of 1,000 users and over 20,000 items listed. The application, still in its start-up phase, is backed by several committed investors, including Frédéric Mazzella (BlaBlaCar), Alexandre Mars and BPI. It offers a messaging system, secure payment and protection in the event of a problem. The aim: to make visible what already exists around us, to limit new purchases and rethink ownership on a local scale.

Sharing has always existed, and many players have been involved in the subject for years. Today, it's high time it became a reflex for as many people as possible. Economically, ecologically and socially, it makes so much sense, because we can all own less, while enjoying more.

Poppins is part of a wider drive to question consumption patterns. At a time when 30% of the objects we own are never used, the application aims to help spread new, more sober and collective practices, at a time when the sharing economy is continuing to grow.
