Itinerary #11 - Hugo Matthaey (Side)
This week, Itinéraires takes you to meetHugo Matthaeymulti-entrepreneur and co-founder of Side.
After studying as far afield as Japan, Hugo joined the 42 School of Management, where his passion for IT and new technologies led him to open the doors to entrepreneurship.
In 2015, he co-founded Side with 3 friends, a platform that shook up the temping sector, and whose success led to it being acquired by Randstad in 2022. Hugo then co-founded ReflektLab which offers AI-based task automation solutions.
This episode looks at Hugo's journey, including :
- the impact of his parents' separation on his early academic and professional choices,
- the overcoming fear of failure,
- the pursuit of his passions that led him to entrepreneurship,
- the need to cultivate curiosity and open up opportunities.

Entrepreneurship is still Russian roulette, and requires a lot of energy.
In this episode Hugo mentions 2 works whose titles and authors he wanted to specify:
- The Power of Myth, by Joseph Campbell
- How to Win Friends & Influence People, by Dale Carnegie
An episode that provides a new answer to the question: how do you become an entrepreneur ?
